Michele has over 20 years of progressive Human Resources Management, Safety Program Development, and Risk Mitigation experience spanning multiple industries, including Construction, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Non-Profit, and Veterinary. Her duties ranged from developing and constructing new buildings and multi-facility acquisition through all multi-facility strategic operations. She is passionate about helping organizations and their staff thrive by returning the Human aspect to Human Resources and Safety and bringing forward inclusive and equitable opportunities for all.
She started Mathews’ HR & Safety Consulting Services in 2017 as the trusted advisor for small and medium-sized business owners in the areas she believes are their most significant assets: their staff. Michele presents nationally on important Risk Management, Safety, and Human Resources topics for public and private sector businesses due to her recognition for helping companies successfully bring employees back to work after injuries and illnesses while reducing frequency, severity, turnover, and costs associated with these areas.
Michele is a Safety Management Professional (SMP), an Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for both the Construction and General Industries, and an Authorized BLS/CPR/AED/First Aid Trainer. She has designations for the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP), Professional Human Resources (PHR), and Workforce Investigations Specialist. Additionally, Michele earned an MBA with an HR Management concentration, a BA in Human Resources Management, and an AA in Psychology.
Michele serves on the HR Tampa Board (President 2025, President-Elect 2024, Certification Director 2021-2023) and is an Alumni of Leadership Tampa Bay (Class of 2024).
